In 2016 Iliobert and I met with the newly elected Mayor of the central Plateau, we asked him how HEF could help the community. He said there is no fire truck or trained firemen in central Haiti and this is a great need. On March 2016 Hinche suffered a terrible fire. There was no fire truck or fire fighters to respond. Several lives were lost and over 30 people were severely burned.

HEF shared the need for a fire truck and training for firefighters with our friends of Haiti...you responded! We bought and sent a fire truck to Haiti and have started ongoing training for Haitian firefighters.
