"And they shall rebuild the old ruins, They shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the ruined cities, the desolations of many generations..... Instead of your shame you shall have a double honor, and instead of confusion they shall rejoice in their portion. Therefore in their land they shall possess double; Everlasting joy shall be theirs." Isaiah 61:4 & 7

"Be still and know that I am God:  I will be exalted
among the nations, I will be exalted in the Earth."

Dear Family and Friends,                                                                 Feb. 16, 2010

What an incredible week that has just flown by.  Team 3 is safely back home after 19+ hours of traveling on Valentines Day.  During the 2nd half of the week in Haiti we continued to see many patients in the Hinche area. One of our patients was named Modette.  She had lost both her upper limbs from the earthquake and came into our clinic for multiple dressing changes while we were there.  It was an honor for us to care for Modette.  Not only was she strong physically, she was so strong emotionally.  Despite such traumatic injuries, she often smiled and had such a peaceful and kind disposition.  She was grateful for the care she received. It was wonderful when we laid our hands on her and prayed, thanking God for her life, and asking for her comfort and healing.  We believe that she felt that we really loved her. We had an opportunity to visit an orphanage and treat over 50 orphans that have recently come to Hinche from PAP.  We met with orphanage directors who informed us that they were expecting to take in more children from PAP in the near future.  We went to another refugee tent city with around 150 people living outside of Hinche.  We had an opportunity to visit their tent homes and pass out goodies, including candies, soccer balls and Frisbees.  A short soccer game with the Haitian youth at the camp was filled with laughter and suspense as the final score was 2 to 2.  We had a couple of US Army soldiers on our team that escorted us to the camp.  Before leaving, our hearts were once again aching for the people of Haiti as we prayed that God would continue to give them strength during this difficult time in their lives.       We were happy to see the feeding program in action at one of the regular village schools supported by HEF.  All in all, we were blessed by how God used each one of us to be a part of His plan.  It’s good to be back home, but our hearts are still in Haiti.

Dear Family and Friends of HEF:                                                    Feb. 11, 2010

I am happy to report that team 3 has safely arrived in Haiti after spending an extra day to reach Hinche due to more difficult travel itinerary since the earthquake.  Since arriving in Haiti we have seen over 400 patients in two of our regular villages and our compound.  We have taken care of patients that were injured from the earthquake at every village we went to.  On Feb. 10th we were able to go to a refuge camp for people displaced by the earthquake from PAP.  When we arrived we witnessed a prayer meeting in the middle of the day that left an everlasting impression in our hearts.  The emotional and spiritual pain that the people were expressing was enough to bring tears to anyone.  In spite of all their loss they were still able to sing “All hail the power of Jesus’ Name, let angels prostrate fall. Join in the song with sweet accord and crown Him, Lord of all.”  What a testimony from the ones that are suffering.  We have been taught much from our brothers and sisters in Haiti.  After attending the last 20 minutes of their prayer meeting, we backed up our two pick up trucks next to their dwelling and attended to all their health needs working out of the tailgate of our trucks.  Unlike our other clinics, we dealt a lot more with emotional stress from the aftermath of the earthquake.  What a privilege it was for us to be able to minister to them in the little way that we did.  God is so good to us.
Today we went to the hospital for the second time since arriving in Hinche.  We had a little more time and so were able to go visit with the children who had been brought to Hinche for multiple medical problems, including severe burns, multiple fractures, etc.  We passed out Beanie Babies and little cars, along with letters written by many elementary students from the Temecula, Murrietta, Lake Elsinore and Menifee area.  It was exciting to see the little boys and girls faces’ light up with joy as they received their little present.  Once again, we were so blessed to be a part of such a joyful work that God has called us to do.
We thank you for all your prayers that have allowed us to be apart of this wonderful organization.  Good night.

We Just Returned From Haiti –

I want to thank God for a fruitful and safe trip to Haiti.  We had a total of 32 people on our team, consisting of medical and support volunteers.  We transported approximately $50,000 in medical/surgical supplies, and $20,000 worth of beans and rice under UN escort.  This allows us to continue our school’s feeding program, serving 16,000 hot meals a week to the children in our remote schools.  God provided miracles everyday!
Our medical staff of doctors, surgeons and nurses treated approximately 1,800 people at our compound clinic and remote village clinics.  We were able to send surgeons and support staff daily to the Hinche hospital, doing everything from orthopedic surgery, minor procedures, amputations; and our own “funologists” (clowns) who brought joy and smiles to the many children who suffered injuries from the earthquake.
Haiti Endowment has a very strong base in Haiti, with over 25 years of serving there.  With our management team and infrastructure that the Lord has given to us in Haiti, I believe that through the Lord, we are able to make a major impact at this time.
I want to thank the many people who have given their time and talents to help at this time.  Without them none of this would be possible.
Our next medical team is leaving Sunday (2/7), with a rotation of other medical teams to follow.
Thank you for your prayers and financial support.

To God Be The Glory!

Praise God we made it home safely - gone 12 days/5 of those spent traveling! Different trip than any other. So many broken bodies, broken lives and broken hearts. I know that God was with us and that He had His eye on every detail. Continue to pray for the Haitians and healing in their land.
